Sur administration

The term “Sur administration” pertains to the governance and rule of the Sur dynasty, which held sway over the Indian subcontinent from 1540 to 1556. The genesis of the Sur dynasty lies in the ascent of Sher Shah Suri, who deposed the Mughal Empire and assumed control of Delhi. Under Sher Shah’s reign, the Sur administration introduced a host of administrative reforms, striving to enhance governance and efficiency. Centralization formed a key aspect of this endeavor, as Sher Shah divided his empire into provinces and appointed governors to oversee them.
